Marcelo Escrich Silent Trio: Charlie Haden Songbook (Errabal 2016)

Double bassist Marcelo Escrich releases "Charlie Haden Songbook," his personal tribute to Charlie Haden leading the group Silent Trio.

A formation without piano or drums, in which he is joined by saxophonist Alberto Arteta and guitarist Luis Giménez.

Both they and Escrich are three essential members of the thriving jazz scene in Navarra.

Jorge Garrido Monk Trio - VINTAGE (2015)

Jazz trio led by the drummer from Logroño, Jorge Garrido. Formed in 2014 with the intention of rescuing old Thelonious Monk compositions and creating a personal identity as a trio. In 2015, they recorded their first album titled "Vintage," a concept present in both the playing style and the personal sound, as it was recorded in a 16th-century church in the traditional way.

Max Canalda - Punjab (2013)

"Punjab" is the work of guitarist Max Canalda published by the Mans Paideia Foundation, as the winner of the jury prize of the 3rd Jazz Fusion Edition of the Mans Paideia Foundation. The album was recorded on May 15 and 16, 2013, at Mans Studios in A Coruña. Participating in the album are Alberto Arteta (tenor sax), Javier Callen (double bass), and Israel Tubilleja (drums).

Broken Brothers Brass Band - The life we deserve (2012)

Active since 2006, with members of the pioneering Amama Luisa Brass Band in its ranks, the music of the Broken Brothers is based on the festive, street sound of contemporary New Orleans Brass Bands. Funk, Gospel, and modern Jazz flood their energetic performances, with collective improvisation as a central feature.

They have played on numerous stages and streets, in festivals such as the Jazzaldia in Donostia-San Sebastian, Getxo Jazz Festival, Jazz al margen (Zaragoza), Haizetara street band festival (Amorebieta), but also at any village festival! They say, in the spirit of the brass bands they are indebted to, "we play at all kinds of events." At other times, they are capable of simply getting in the van and appearing unannounced to play in the streets of any city...

ALBERTO ARTETA GROUP is a quintet formed by young musicians based in Navarra and Guipúzcoa, which recently won the BBK IMPULSO 2013 award for the best jazz project, for its freshness and quality.
